Starting in May 2022, I began the process of applying to the US Marine Corps Officer training program, and underwent rigorous physical, intellectual, and security evaluations. I trained to earn the maximum 300/300 points on the Physical Fitness Test, and earned the maximum score of 99 on the ASVAB. At Officer Candidates School, a program designed to transform civilians into capable leaders, I sustained several injuries. As a result, I exited the program with great respect for the Marines, and a drive to find another way to serve, and to be surrounded by excellent, purpose-driven people.
