Teaching English as a second language at the University of Angers for the academic year 2022-23, my responsibilities include teaching and preparing a variety of classes for undergraduate university students. These classes involve teaching skills such as transcribing the International Phonetic Alphabet, debate and public speaking skills, translation between English and French, and an introduction to anglophone cinema.

Cube Partnership were the official licensee for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, with numerous stores around the city selling official Birmingham and Team England merchandise in the months leading up to, and during, the Games. In the High Street Store my responsibilities included communicating with the customers about the Games, the venues, and the stock. I additionally represented the team at job fairs and in Job Centres around Birmingham in a recruitment drive for staff during the Games, and carried out successful interviews for potential staff members.

Alongside my postgraduate studies, my aim was to endeavour to engage, inspire and support the next generation of linguists. "A different language is a different vision of life", Federico Fellini, and often language learning is viewed as a grand, unachievable, never-ending concept; however by breaking down grammar and vocabulary into smaller, memorable, digestible chunks I hope to support tutees in developing their language learning at a more attainable, and less terrifying, rate.

Alongisde my undergraduate and postgraduate studies, I worked part-time for Clear Links as a trained Student Support Worker and Sighted Guide. I took notes and offered additional support sessions for students across Modern Languages and legal studies.

As an undergraduate student representative, I sat on the Student Staff Committee for Modern Languages, holding firstly the position of Student Chair on the German Committee in my first year and later representing the University at the Birmingham-wide Student Rep Conference at Newman University.In my postgraduate studies, I was elected by other student representatives from the college of Arts and Law to act as a senior representative. In this role I set up and managed social media and canvas pages to allow clear channels for feedback and information sharing, in addition to representing the student voice at Graduate School board meetings for the college.

Whilst on my year abroad studying full-time at the University of Caen, I worked part time for the regional department of education as an English Language Assistant. In addition to offering support in the classroom and small groups, my main role was running the weekly debate club. Here I coached a small group of students in public speaking skills in preparation for a regional debate competition.
