Additionally, I supported the work that Asialink Diplomacy does regarding our Insights publications as well working on grant applications and value propositions. In this role, I also spent one day a week supporting Asialink Arts, as well as the entire Asialink Group with program and event delivery.

I was the Operations Manager at one of the largest vaccination hub in Northern Melbourne, run by DPV Health. As an Operations Manager, I helped ensure the smooth running of the facility, as well as positive customer experience. The role entailed complex analytical thinking and problem resolution, as well as strong communication and leadership skills.

After being with DPV Health for less than a month, I was asked to join their Covid-19 Vaccination Team, on top of my role in the Population Health Team. In this role, I undertook administrative and problem resolution tasks. This role required strong communication skills, and the ability to support people emotionally through the process of being vaccinated. It also built my public health communication skills and confidence.

I began my time at DPV Health as a project support officer in the Population Health team. In this role, I developed training resources, undertook social media work, and created health promotion materials.

I became a New Colombo Plan Ambassador which shows my dedication to this program. It allowed me to support and mentor other young people passionate about the Indo-Pacific region.

I undertook a New Colombo Plan Scholarship, which provided me with the opportunity to work across the Indo-Pacific region in a variety of roles, in a range of different countries. My success within these different roles demonstrates my ability to be flexible and resilient in ever-changing environments, as well as my excellent written and verbal communication skills across cultures. While working in politically sensitive fields within these countries, I was able to show my ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.

During my internship with The House of Friendship, I was the co-lead in the monitoring and evaluation of their community services. The community services included supporting people who suffered from addiction, homelessness and other social issues. This role involved the creation, implementation and analysis of a service evaluation survey.

During my internship at The Asia Foundation I worked in a project-support role for their Law and Human Rights Team. This involved working closely with other NGOs in the field as well as the Commission for Human Rights. I took on many assistant program management roles, including administration and co-ordination roles. This included the facilitation of working groups, the organisation of meetings and events, the development of monthly and yearly budgets and the writing of grant applications and process reports. I also took on research and data analysis roles, to help monitor and evaluate different programs. This was a diverse role that strengthened my problem solving and analytical skills as I continuously navigated multiple tasks and roles, which required the provision of outputs within tight deadlines. My computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Suite and Outlook, were also reinforced during this role.This role also helped develop my communication skills, particularly about complex and sensitive topics.

In this role, I worked in health promotion and education surrounding 'eye-health'. I participated in health promotion and awareness building activities, significantly improving my public health communication skills. I also drafted a 3 year strategy plan in liaison with the BHVI Head Officer.This internship also gave me the opportunity to create a comprehensive social media plan. I was able to put this plan into action and further develop my social media and computer skills in regards to health promotion and community development. Undertaking this role in Sri Lanka meant that I was faced with quickly learning new processes and software systems, which I was successfully able to master in a short period of time.

Malé, Maldives

Within my role at Women and Democracy in the Maldives, I lead the design and implementation of a youth empowerment project, which created a space for youth to speak with leaders in the fields in which they were most passionate, this included sexual health, mental health and overall wellbeing. The design phase involved consulting and collaborating with youth in the region to ensure a culturally appropriate program that met the needs that the youth identified as most important. This required the creation and maintenance of strong connections with a range of community stakeholders. Although I had no connections when I first begun the role, my interpersonal and communication skills allowed me to successfully access strong networks of people. At the conclusion of the program, I evaluated its effectiveness and created a report which was submitted to the Ministry of Youth.On top of this, I helped create and facilitate training workshops for women to increase the political and economic participation in the Maldives.

In this role, I supported nurses and doctors with public health tasks. I created health awareness campaigns and supported staff in the prenatal and immunisation wards.
