I am currently the Diplomacy Program Lead at Asialink, Australia’s leading centre for Asia-capability and engagement. In this role I work to strengthen Australia’s relationships across Asia by connecting and developing networks of regional leaders, government officials, academics and experts so that they can build relationships and discuss solutions to issues facing the region. My role works to build vital people-to-people links to activate high quality discussion and support a prosperous and secure Indo-Pacific region. I am an enthusiastic and hard-working human rights advocate and hold a Master of Development Studies from the University of Melbourne. I was a New Colombo Plan Fellow in 2018 through the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and have been an Ambassador for the Scholarship in 2020 and 2023. I have been volunteering with Amnesty International Australia for 7 years, and currently sit on their Activist Leadership Committee.I am passionate about building and strengthening Australia's relationships in the Indo-Pacific. I have worked in capacity building and women's empowerment in the Maldives, health promotion in Sri Lanka, law and human rights in the Philippines and community health in Canada. I have also worked in public health in the Federated States of Micronesia and organised the innaugural Pride Walk in the Micronesia region.

This included the facilitation of working groups, the organisation of meetings and events, the development of monthly and yearly budgets and the writing of grant applications and process reports. I also took on research and data analysis roles, to help monitor and evaluate different programs. This was a diverse role that strengthened my problem solving and analytical skills as I continuously navigated multiple tasks and roles, which required the provision of outputs within tight deadlines. My computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Suite and Outlook, were also reinforced during this role.This role also helped develop my communication skills, particularly about complex and sensitive topics. -

I participated in health promotion and awareness building activities, significantly improving my public health communication skills. I was able to put this plan into action and further develop my social media and computer skills in regards to health promotion and community development. Project ManagerWomen And Democracy Jan 2019 - Mar 2019Malé, MaldivesWithin my role at Women and Democracy in the Maldives, I lead the design and implementation of a youth empowerment project, which created a space for youth to speak with leaders in the fields in which they were most passionate, this included sexual health, mental health and overall wellbeing. The design phase involved consulting and collaborating with youth in the region to ensure a culturally appropriate program that met the needs that the youth identified as most important. This required the creation and maintenance of strong connections with a range of community stakeholders. Although I had no connections when I first begun the role, my interpersonal and communication skills allowed me to successfully access strong networks of people. At the conclusion of the program, I evaluated its effectiveness and created a report which was submitted to the Ministry of Youth.On top of this, I helped create and facilitate training workshops for women to increase the political and economic participation in the Maldives.
