As the Science Coordinator/Lead at the GLOBE Implementation Office with NASA's GLOBE Program, I oversaw all data measurement campaigns, data quality efforts, the GLOBE International STEM Network (GISN) - a network of STEM professionals that work with GLOBE students and teachers, and science content on the GLOBE.gov website. I planned and led the 2022 GLOBE Annual Meeting (virtual with ~300 participants), the 2022 GLOBE Student Experience, and the 2023 GLOBE Student Experience (in-person with ~20 students). I supervised two web content specialists and one data analyst. Most recently, I managed the restructuring of the GLOBE Protocol eTrainings alongside educational designers from the UCAR COMET Program.

My research focused on hydroponic soybean growth with human derived waste based nutrient solutions. The research contributed to the European Space Agency (ESA) MicroEcological Life Support System Alternative (MELiSSA) project that aims to create closed and sustainable life support systems for long-term space missions, while providing a model for terrestrial system closure.

The IGLUNA 2020 Campaign is project established by the Swiss Space Center in collaboration with ESA_Lab@CH. Our MELiSSA IGLUNA 2020 Team project was focused on combining the individual PhD and PostDoc research endeavors of our six team members and the ESA MELiSSA concept to create a system linking human urine treatment technologies to food and oxygen production.

I worked on an NSF Funded project focused on the "fungal loop hypothesis." We focused on nutrient cycling in biological soil crusts of the Chihuahuan Desert and Colorado Plateau using various stable and radioisotope labeling techniques.

As an intern for the STRAW Program at Point Blue, we do exactly what "STRAW" stands for : Students and Teachers Restoring A Watershed. The program works together with schools and local communities to bring environmental education into curriculum around the Bay area that align with school standards. This involved classroom visits and field trips that gave K-12 students hands-on experience with professional-grade restoration projects alongside STRAW staff and interns.

During the summer months of 2014 and 2015, I assisted in conducting research on divergent Silene latifolia populations and its moth pollinator in a cross-transplanting study in Spain and Croatia. I worked alongside graduate students and post-doctorates from Indiana University.During the spring of 2015, I assisted in various greenhouse experiments involving divergent Silene latifolia populations from France, Hungry, Croatia, Spain, and Portugal.

As a CUE, I planned, created, and implemented programs for Indiana University students living in the campus residence halls. The programs and events centered around social justice and diversity related topics such as gender, race, religion, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, and age. The goal was to engage students in open and safe discussions about events happening on a local, domestic, or international scale.
