I worked here for a 3 week work placement. While working for Marks and Spencer, I mainly assisted the men's leisurewear merchandising team, I also had various days where I moved around to see what other departments did, for example I shadowed one of the BAA's, I assisted in the press team and was able to spend time with both the allocations and packaging teams. This gave me a very broad view of how each department, though separate in responsibilities, did link together to create and bring products to their customers.

I worked at Gant's head office for 3 summers in a row as a showroom assistant. Each year I worked there I was given more responsibility. The tasks given to me included; checking incoming samples, setting out showrooms, sitting in on buyers meetings, assisting the in house buyers and merchandisers inputting data. I found this role invaluable as it taught me so much about the industry that I was unaware of and set me on a track to continue with a career within it.
