I work at the Yellowknife Book Cellar as a retail sales manager. In this position, I contribute to orders and returns for the Book Cellar, as well as creating displays, managing backroom stock, and opening shop in the morning.

I worked an on-call substitute teacher and classroom assistant with YK1 for students in junior kindergarten to grade 7. In this role I contributed to the learning environment by subbing in a teaching role in Phys. Ed. and pre-kindergarten, as well as helping with literacy in K-7 as an education assistant.

I worked an on-call substitute teacher and classroom assistant with the Yellowknife Catholic Schoolboard for students in junior kindergarten to grade 12. In this role I contributed to the learning environment by subbing in a teaching role in art and language arts, as well as helping with literacy, math, and French as an education assistant.

I was the lead research assistant in creating an open-source textbook on the ancient Roman world, which is now over 180,000 words long. My role included formatting this textbook and overseeing five research assistants in the editing and publishing process. I presented on this project at Koerner Library’s Pixelating Showcase, UBC’s Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Technology, and was one of four panel members speaking on Publishing as Pedagogy during UBC’s Open Scholarship in Practice week.

I was an in-class notes taker for the UBC Centre for Accessibility. In this role, I worked towards making my classes more accessible for fellow students.

I was the program assistant for Conflict Theatre at UBC. Nestled under Human Resources at UBC, Conflict Theatre focuses on constructively engaging with conflict. In this role, I have designed a the Conflict Theatre blog, aided in the day-to-day organization, researched and crafted the monthly newsletter, and learned about facilitating team-building exercises.

I have worked two summers as a full-time administrative assistant and receptionist for Guy Architects, where I aid in the creation of fee letters and proposals and receive walk-in customers. It was a fantastic work environment!
