- Worked as a teacher and support staff at a clinic-based school in London, attached to Edgware Community Hospital, serving the needs of students facing mental health challenges, ages 13-19- Worked on a team of 6 educators to meet the various needs of, at most, 33 students in an ungraded, specialist setting focused on the development of the whole child through academics, the arts, exercise and sports, mindfulness, ethics, and religious classes.- Provided students with the academic, social, and emotional support necessary to be re-integrated into the community, and ultimately, back into their mainstream schools- Taught curriculum-based religious education courses based on GCSE requirements and national standards- Took part in daily hand-over meetings, in which the education team and clinic team collaborated to evaluate and discuss each student’s level of need in relation to their behaviors and mental state- Acted as support staff during classes in order to keep every child engaged and safe- Worked one-on-one with specific students who could not cope in a whole-group setting by creating adjacent lessons or helping them complete expected work- Supported instructors in therapeutic yoga and dance lessons at the clinic by participating in exercise and meditation aimed at bringing mindfulness to the young people living at the clinic- Experience in mandated reporting and follow-up through legal procedures, parent interaction, child protective services, therapy meetings, and safeguarding procedures
