Since 2011, I’ve had the privilege of observing how good businesses succeed and how even the best potential can be lost through poor processes and execution. My journey across various roles—Customer Service, Software Training, User Testing, and Customer Success—has always centered on one core mission: communicating key ideas and knowledge to the right people, at the right time.Over time, I became deeply passionate about leadership and effective communication, pursuing a postgraduate degree in psychology with the vision to enter the workforce as a psychologist with a realistic, people-centered mindset.Then, in February 2021, life threw me an unexpected curveball: my mother, Louise Thomson, passed away suddenly. In the midst of this personal tragedy, I was asked to step in as CEO of her beloved Nursing Agency, a business she had built over 17 years.I took on this challenge in April 2021, at a time when the healthcare industry was strained to its limits by the pandemic. Although I hadn’t planned for this path, I relied on my knowledge of leadership, communication, and commitment to guide the business.Over the next two years, with the guidance of expert mentors, my sister and Co-CEO transformed the agency into one of the most reputable names in the industry. We implemented the "Scaling Up" business methodology with enormous success, expanding our services nationwide, increasing annual turnover increased by 150%, GP margin by 6%, and most notably, doubled our number of internal employees AND simultaneously achieving 96% employee engagement (as per the organisational Gallup Q12 Survey), through creation of a thriving company culture by empowering individuals with opportunities to excel through personal & professional development.In March 2023, after a personal transition, I stepped away from the business. But my passion for guiding others to success remained strong.
