My work and experience with this camp was featured on NPR's radio coverage, as well as on North Carolina's public radio website.

Mianyang, Sichuan, China

A volunteer summer camp I helped organize, design the curriculum for, and instruct for that taught English to middle and elementary-school students impacted by the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake. This summer camp was entirely student-run and led, and we chose Mianyang, a poor, rural area in Sichuan, China that was devastated by the 2008 Earthquake. The summer camp was a few weeks long and completely free for the students; the curriculum focused on English language and culture instruction that the students wouldn't have the resources to learn otherwise.
