Through this position I worked full time under the direction of Dr. David Gritz, MD, MPH, on clinical research in ophthalmology pertaining specifically to inflammatory eye diseases. My research included both local studies regarding residents of the Bronx, NY and global studies in Cuba and India.

As a Medical Assistant I triage all patients. Additionally, I assist in biopsies, excisions, and during cancer screenings. I am the primary Mohs surgical assistant for the practice. As such, I prepare all paperwork for the procedure, help acquire the tissue to be examined, and assist during the closure. Manhattan Center For Dermatology covers all aspects of medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology for both adults and children.

Through the Spanish Language Internship Program at the University of Michigan I work alongside the program coordinator to assist Latinos in accessing public health benefits. Based out of the Public Health Department, I attend enrollment meetings, assist with administrative work, conduct home visits with the coordinator, and work with attorneys at the Law Clinic.
