When I was 8 years old, I won my first video game competition. Standing proudly as the smallest person at the local GameStop with the controller in my hands, I had no idea how that one day I would be the one writing programs like the one that ran the game I loved. As I grew, my love for gaming blossomed into a passion for coding - battles became algorithms, and controllers became keyboards. Solving puzzles, optimizing performance, and doing it all with friends by your side - these are what make gaming and development so alike and so incredible. Now, I'm a software engineer. I have eight months of professional experience developing, testing, and debugging Android applications in Java and C++ as well as four years of experience developing for internships, research, and personal projects in Python, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
