I had the opportunity to work on several public facing events like the Juneteenth Concert, Pride Celebration, Fourth of July, and NCAA Championship Event. I also was able to get officially certified to give tours of the White House by the U.S. Secret Service. This involved memorizing a 14 page packet and giving a 45 minute tour of the East Wing and State Rooms. It was truly so incredible working in such a public facing office and being able to make the White House and its history more accessible to the public.

In this position, I gained valuable public speaking and interpersonal skills by conducting tours and Courtroom Lectures to up to 200 people and staffing a visitor desk. I also developed a substantial working knowledge of the role and functions of the Supreme Court, its history, and the architecture of the building. Finally, I assisted Collections Managers with cataloging the Court’s collection of decorative arts and graphic art objects

In this position I created educational content for Hirshhorn media accounts. I assisted in the planning and facilitation of museum events inspired by artists and artworks on view aimed towards educating children. I also had the opportunity to attend and learn from lectures from a variety of Smithsonian, National Geographic, and Emerson Collective professionals

I served as a part-time intern for non-profit that seeks to strengthen global community-based human rights advocacy groups. This involved collaborating with community artisans in Uganda, Nepal, & Kenya to support their local start-up efforts to facilitate social change. I alsoproduced graphics used for social media and product labels for artisan collectives in Uganda and the United States.
