As an Instructional Student Assistant, I worked as a Geospatial lab tutor during open lab hours. I help students solve any GIS, remote sensing, or spatial programming problems.

Gunnison, Colorado

As the GIS intern, I applied my geospatial skillset to the wide variety of needs of the Gunnison Field Office. Using both field-collected data and data retrieved from the established enterprise geodatabases, I performed analyses and produced maps. Most notably, I used an open source ArcGIS toolbox to create a sound propagation model to be used in future impact reports.

I worked as a Leader in Training (LIT) Counselor at Camp Chief Ouray at YMCA of the Rockies. In this position, I led high school students through a two week program focusing on developing leadership skills and increasing backcountry experience. Throughout the two weeks, I taught students the basics of backpacking skills and backcountry ethics during a multi-day backpacking trip in Rocky Mountain National Park. Additionally, I led students through leadership activities and facilitated a Leave No Trace Awareness Workshop.

As Trail Department Coordinator, I completed the behind-the-scenes tasks necessary for a successful trip. My responsibilities included ordering and packing all food, organizing the gear storage area, repairing any broken gear, and packing all other gear necessary for a variety of trips. In this position, time management skills were very necessary as I made my own schedule and spent my time as I saw necessary to complete all time-sensitive tasks. Additionally, I worked closely with administrative staff to offer support to counselors.
