I am one of 25 scientists internationally to be awarded this fellowship. The aim of the Plantae Fellowship program is to create and disseminate content relating to plant biology research to the online Plantae community, which is established and run by the American Society of Plant Biologists. As a Plantae Fellow, I create content for the Plantae community in the form of blog posts, research article summaries, and webinars.

IRC Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship holder and postgraduate researcher in UCD, researching the genetics of plant architecture in Cannabis sativa, under the supervision of Dr Susanne Schilling and Dr Rainer Melzer as part of the UCD Flower Power lab group.

I was awarded a Crawford Hayes bursary, a scholarship to facilitate undergraduate research. This internship was carried out with the UCD Flower Power lab under the supervision of Dr Rainer Melzer and Dr Susanne Schilling. This position involved assisting various postgraduate researchers with their work, e.g., phenotypic analysis of hemp plants in glasshouse conditions, as well as lab-based work including DNA and RNA isolations, PCR-based assays, and gene expression analysis e.g., qPCR.
