Mechanical engineering graduate student, working with robotic devices to improve human mobility. Primarily focused on evaluating the ability of a robotic knee-ankle prosthesis to improve the mobility of individuals with above-knee amputations.

Study coordinator for "Community Based Measurement of Instability and Exposure in Persons with Postural Instability”. Developed study protocol and documentation.Organized all laboratory records and data, coordinated researchers and subjects.Wrote IRB renewal application, and modification/update application.Used Opal inertial sensors (APDM) with human subjects.Analyzed raw accelerometer and gyroscope data using MATLAB.

Managed two motion capture labs, trained researchers, planned research studies, managed research studies, processed data, maintained equipment, and performed data collection for other researcher groups. Set up, moved, calibrated, used, and maintained all equipment, including Vicon cameras, AMTI force plates, Bertec force plates, and a Bertec instrumented treadmill. Ran all of the equipment during data collection for most studies performed in the lab. Configured the lab to optimally capture the activity for a specific study, calibrated equipment, placed markers on subjects, and ran the computer during collection, including recording data in Vicon and operating the Bertec treadmill. Either post-processed all data, managed volunteers to post-process the data, or trained the researchers to post-process their own data. Taught training sessions about moving and focusing cameras, setting up for a motion capture session, calibrating equipment, marker placement, using the software and hardware during data collection, post-processing in Vicon, and post-processing data in Vicon and Visual 3D. Trained 20+ researchers. Recruited, trained, and managed research volunteers to process data. 15+ volunteers trained.Created an online walkthrough and troubleshooting guide for data capture and data processing.Wrote and edited IRB applications, consent forms, grant applications, abstracts, and journal articles. Performed and coordinated multiple research studies from start to finish. Recruited patients, organized paperwork, scheduled patients, researchers, and clinicians, collected data, and processed data in Vicon and Visual3D: - Coordinated study, “Validation of a Computerized Orthotic Prescription System”. - Coordinated study, “Gait Analysis of Individuals Pre- and Post- Thoracolumbar Fusion”. - Coordinated study, “Effects of Abdominoplasty/Panniculectomy Surgery on Posture and the Kinematics of Gait”.

- Held three 50-minute supplemental instruction sessions a week. Prepare questions or activities for each session, with a focus on interactive and collaborative learning.- Held test reviews before each exam.
