As a librarian, I have manifold responsibilities. In this position, I work closely with patrons to help them utilize library technology in order to complete a variety of tasks. I regularly provide reference services to patrons especially reader's advisory and reference interviews. At my branch, I am responsible for overseeing, developing, and managing the young adult collection. Year-round I propose and implement engaging and educational young adult programming designed to fit patron needs. I participate in multiple committees including serving as an advisor on the library's Teen Advisory Board and co-leading our summer reading program design committee. Outreach is also an important aspect of this position, and I regularly visit high schools and table at community events to promote library services and resources.

In the Librarian Associate position, designed for MLIS students, I gained experience to prepare me for success as a librarian. This experience includes providing reference service to all ages, some collection management, community outreach and implementing programming for teens. During my time in this position, I also participated on several collaborative committees for special programming and projects such as the Black History Month Reading Challenge and Summer Reading Program.

One of my main responsibilities in this role was to problem solve installation issues while also facilitating smooth communication between multiple stakeholders including Home Depot, Crew2, customers, and independent contractors. Early into this position, I was asked to take the lead production coordinator role in a department that had low scores and a bad reputation with stakeholders. I was able to rebuild professional relationships with contractors and Home Depot representatives, establish consistent and reliable communication with all parties, and identify and correct previous accounting errors. Home Depot provided me with the Service Provider Excellence Award in recognition of the reliability and efficiency I brought to the department.

At HOM Furniture, I worked individually and as part of a cross-functional team to solve complex product and delivery issues. The environment was fast-paced and required multi-tasking to answer incoming phone calls, write up warranty reports, and complete data entry. In 2020, I was recognized for having the best performance statistics in the department. I was also awarded the Employee Excellence Award earlier in my tenure for my dedication to solving customer issues.

Parallax Literary Magazine - Ripon College

As Editor in Chief of Parallax Literary Magazine, it was my responsibility to recruit and lead the magazine's editorial staff. I scheduled and led weekly staff meetings to discuss and edit submissions. I also created promotional materials and organized campus events to promote the magazine and encourage submissions. I designed the magazine through Adobe InDesign. Due to COVID-19, no students were allowed on campus, and I was unable to print the publication. I decided to work with the circumstances, and I was the first Editor in Chief to publish and distribute the literary magazine digitally.

My primary responsibility as a Writing and Presentation Tutor was to read and edit student papers for technical and stylistic issues as well as give feedback on student presentations. I assisted students with many stages of the writing process such as pre-writing and thesis development. I also tutored students on research strategies, citation styles, and grammar.

As an interlibrary loan assistant, I individually processed internal and external interlibrary loan requests using OCLC WorldShare. I then packaged and shipped physical loans and digitized articles from bound periodicals and microfilm. As necessary, I facilitated communication with partner libraries to enforce library loan policies and answer questions.
