It all started with a puppy, around the age of 3, I received my first dog and decided then I wanted to be a veterinarian when I grew up. From then on I began befriending and caring for any and every animal that showed up on my family's farm. I soon received my first heifer calf and began showing cattle, and have continued to for the past 17 years. The world of agriculture has taught me that you can always learn something new every day, that attitude and work ethic get you far in life, and to trust your instincts. However, to say I am "just a country girl" would be wrong. At the age of 5 I began playing sports, and at the age of 8 I began playing competitive softball, which continued for the next 10 years. Sports taught me to be a team player, how to manage my time, to always believe in myself, and setting goals helps you achieve dreams. I am now 20 years old with 4 years of experience working in a vet clinic, and 10 years of experience in owning my own herd of cattle, and a collegiate athlete. I am pursuing my bachelors degree and hope to continue on and obtain my doctorate of veterinary medicine. I am a natural born leader, and incredibly self-motivated, all I need is a place to continue my passion in the world of animal science. In the end, all I want is to be able to look back at that little girl with her big dreams and say "We did it."
