This position consists mainly of assisting with the field work portion of the professors within the Department of Geography, Geology and the Environment. Other responsibilities include data entry and organization and sample preparation for lab analysis.

Saginaw, Michigan Area

This seasonal position usually lasts through late Spring, all through Summer and extends somewhat into early fall. Technicians are responsible for applying pesticides safely and effectively to ensure the control of the Mosquito population. Other responsibilities include interacting with the community to educate as well as learn about their needs in relation to mosquito risks and the commission itself.

During my time as a lab assistant I spent much of my time organizing lab activities for other classes and assisting in constructing new lessons. I also was in charge of taking inventory of the department's equipment and supplies at the start of each new year.

I am working towards achieving my Masters in Hydrogeologic sciences. My thesis research, which has a focus of stream nutrient removal.
