Sport has been an integral part of my life since the age of 6. I persevered with weekly training sessions to earn my black belt by 9 years old. From then, I was determined to improve my skills and secured my 2nd dan 4 years later. At the age of 10, I started competing locally and nationally. Being a young athlete meant I experienced many early setbacks; however this only fueled my determination to be successful. At the age of 12 I was selected to represent England and began daily training. This led to 4 years of consecutive local and national 1st place titles. To continually improve I undergo strength and conditioning training at Martin Nugent Elite Performance every week and follow a personalised training program. I also train up to six times per week in the dojo. In 2022, I was selected to represent England at the European championships in Switzerland. A competition that attracts top performing competitors from across Europe, I won 1st place European champion in cadet kata. In September 2023, I travelled to Portugal to compete in the world championships. After hours of training and dedication, I achieved 3rd in the world for individual kata. My skills of time management played a huge role in my success as being a successful student athlete meant I had to forfeit my free time to balance studying and training with making time for my friends and family.I have extensive experience in both retail and hospitality, having worked in various roles that have honed my customer service and operational skills. In retail, I have served as a sales associate, where I managed inventory, assisted customers with purchases, and handled transactions efficiently. My roles have also included visual merchandising, where I ensured attractive and strategic product displays to maximize sales.In hospitality, I have worked as a waitress and bar staff, providing excellent service by taking accurate orders, serving food and beverages promptly, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. I have also managed cash and credit card transactions, and prepared a variety of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. My experience in both sectors has equipped me with strong communication skills, the ability to work in fast-paced environments, and a commitment to delivering a high standard of service.Balancing my academic studies, work experience and athletic standards I have developed versatile skills which have helped me to set personal goals, achieve these and then create opportunities for the future.
