As a coach for 5 Star Soccer Academy I work several skills camps through out the summer and winter break. I take groups of players ranging from 4-12 years of age, groups typically consist of 5-20 players at a time. It is my responsibility to create practice plans that are geared towards my players age range, level, and interest. My plans have to be attention grabbing while being based in soccer education. I want to foster and share my love for the sport with the next generation of players.

I am an American Red Cross certified nanny and babysitter with in my local community, where I have developed essential skills that will support me throughout my education career. Routinely nurturing children's development through engaging activities, and supporting individual growth. I also frequently practice my communication skills while communicating with parents. Patience is crucial as children are still emotionally developing, as a babysitter I handle a variety of emotions daily practicing different emotional regulation methods.

My senior year of high school I had the privilege of taking part in a dual credit program run in correlation with my high school and a local community college, the course was titled Introduction to Teaching. I was placed into a local kindergarten classroom where I gained valuable hands-on experience through the leadership of my mentor teachers. I spent three days a week in the classroom assisting with copies, leading lessons, pulling students for differentiation and testing, and building relationships with students and faculty. The other two days a week I spent in my high school classroom collaborating with peers and completing course work in order to earn those two college credits. Without this experience I would not have the hands-on experience and knowledge that I do today, something not possible in a lecture style class.

The summer going into my senior year of high school I had a special education teacher that was kind enough to invite me into her summer school classroom to observe and help out. I was able to get hands-on experience of what a high school special education classroom looked like. I helped with one to one assistance during activities, leading whole class activities, advocating for the students within the community, and supporting life skills. Fostering independence in and out of the classroom, we often took community outreach trips where we encouraged the students to practice life skills. Some skills included, conversing with others, buying groceries, doing laundry, cooking, and much more. I was able to observe how teachers and parents can work together to reinforce and achieve student goals, and how communication is a crucial part of making that happen. I also built skills in assisting and supporting students that use augmentative and alternative communication, as well as advocating for them to have a voice within the school and community.

My freshmen and sophomore years I taught in the preschool that was built into my high school. This was a part of the Early Childhood Care and Child Development classes. I earned my Early Childhood Care (ECE) level 1 credential with in the state of Illinois through this class. My freshmen year I worked in the 2-3 year old section and my sophomore year I worked in the 3-5 classroom. I lead circle time and other academic activities, promoted student collaboration and play, observed as students hit developmental milestones, and supported students with motor development.
