Worked as part of the Group Tax team in Remediation. Started off doing some Banking Remediation and have since concentrated on Super Remediation events. This involved familiarizing myself with Superannuation legislation and regulations which was a new area of tax for me.In a short timeframe, applying this knowledge to business queries and drafting of ATO voluntary disclosures, tax positions/memos/advices, reviewing and approving member correspondence relating to remediation events, reviewing calculators developed by the business to ensure remediation errors are rectified. Lead and managed the Caltex Group Tax team to provide effective tax advice and planning to the Caltex Group on a specific set of taxes (eg fuel tax, customs, income tax, GST and FBT), Group Tax issues and/or engagement with specific business stakeholders. Contributed to the development and implementation of group tax strategies and plans. Supported the Head of Tax with complex transactions, projects and revenue authority engagements. Lead and provided tax effective advice and planning to the business and partnering with the business to meet its commercial objectives.

Supervised a team of tax accountants to perform various compliance tasks for SME and high net worth clients. Worked directly with the Tax Partner doing tax research and drafting tax advice to clients. Implemented accounting software for clients ensuring that they are tax compliant and meeting their tax reporting obligations.
