- Worked in the Queen Production Unit managing up to 1200 hives and nucs.- Completed the NZQA New Zealand Certificate in Apiculture (Level 4).- Contributed to the production of a record number of mated queens and queens cells, allowing 66% of all hives to be requeened during the season, surpassing the 50% target.- Implemented and monitored seasonal beehive management plans, including feeding, requeening, disease management, swarm prevention, and wintering down hives.- Monitored and managed pests and diseases in the beehive, including varroa mite, American Foulbrood, chalkbrood, sacbrood, wasps and mice.- Transported beehives and established new sites.- Travelled to manuka forests to harvest honey, surpassing the 2024 honey crop season target.- Extracted honey from supers producing high-quality contaminant-free products, identified food safety risks, and set an annual record for extraction volume through the plant.
