I became the Passport Coordinator for my Chapter in October of 2019. I joined BNI for the opportunity to become a better public speaker and also learn networking. BNI is all about personal growth, and also helping connect the right people to increase referrals among professional and reputable business owners. I became the President of the Chapter, which in short, means that I facilitated the meetings for the members and visitors. I enjoyed being creative in my role, and working closely with the Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer to improve our Chapter!

As an assistant to Jacqueline, one of the top producers in the nation for Mutual of Omaha, it was my daily focus to manage her schedule, and her office space to allow her to work efficiently. Some of my tasks included:-Client communications -Schedule management-Filing-Administrative tasks-Creating spreadsheets, flyers, presentations-Compliance management-Paper managementand more!

As the manager of Painting with a Twist, I was responsible for all the day to day operations of the studio including managing the artists. The owner trusted me to take care of all of the needs of the studio, and would check-in once a week via phone to get updates. I took great pride in keeping the studio clean, organized and well-stocked for the artists and customers. I worked diligently over 4 years as a full time employee, becoming the manager after two years when the previous manager moved to another city. 85% of my time, even before becoming manager, I worked alone and had to be very self-motivated and disciplined, as the other manager and owner worked off site. My responsibilities included but were not limited to: customer service, handling cash, ordering/inventory, set-up for 90% of classes, management of all employees and their schedules, advertising and marketing including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, Email marketing via Constant Contact, and print advertising. I also took great pride in decorating the studio, and being very creative in display building. I took initative in projects to improve the studio. One month before I resigned I sorted through over 1000 paintings that had to be re-numbered and re-organized. I also created a 13 page management manual to pass on to the next manager that detailed all of the expectations of management and also offered helpful advice that I had learned over 4 years. Lastly, it's valuable to note that I strengthened my organizing skills due to the lack of storage space in the studio, I had to be creative on how to store new canvas shipments: We would receive at least 500 blank canvases each week, among varying stock of wine/beer, and paint supplies in a very small space. Although Painting with a Twist is a nationwide brand, each location is a franchise and therefore individually owned as a small business. I worked hard to promote and maintain this small business to add to it's success.
