👋🏻 Hi, I'm Grace, I am a 3rd year student at Western University located in London, Ontario✏️ At Western• I am currently majoring in Genetics, I love learning about the complex systems within our body and have a growing passion for healthcare• I am involved in various clubs on campus: African Student Association, Black Student Association and Women in STEM Association• I work on campus as a Front Desk Clerk in various residence Buildings 👩‍💼Alpha Gamma Delta • A women’s organization entered around empowerment, service, academics and sisterhood • Previously served as the Vice-President of Member Experience, currently serve as the Vice President of Academic Excellence • Our philanthropic focus is fighting hunger, showcased in events such as Home Run for Hunger and annual Alpha Gamma Delta Food Drive. Our goal is to raise awareness and support our local community. 🏕️Camp Counselling • I have given back to my local church community as a camp leader and counsellor for a number of years • Developed public speaking skills by leading children through opening and closing remarks and interactive skits • I have gained leadership roles through my years of engagement as a Co-director of Vacation Bible School in 2019 and upcoming Kids Overnight Camp in the Summer • I have used my experience to achieve a supervisory role at West Coast Kids Cancer Foundation where I participated in the planning and facilitation of day camps for children and siblings that have experience childhood cancer and blood disorders 💭My goals and aspirations• I hope to grow within the field of science and gain hands-on experience in summer research opportunities • I want to extent my network and meet a variety of people who share a passion for helping others 📩 Send me a message if you would like to connect!
