Within the Operations team, I worked to develop a warehouse capacity and utilization tool in Excel. Additionally to this tool, I also created a basic predictor for capacity impacts based on potential additions and losses of customers within each warehouse. For the data, I worked with both DCMS and SAP. Alongside my department duties, as part of the internship program, I worked with a team to develop a Soft Skills Training Plan - creating surveys, interviewing individuals, sorting through past programs, and referencing case studies - to develop a plan of action within a Learning Management System. This training plan used the Customer Service team as a pilot but was developed with corporate wide expansion in mind.

During my time with Hobby Lobby, I experienced working many different positions from Customer Service, Product Floor Sections, to Back-End Inventory Handling. This was an enjoyable experience, being directly involved in handling products from their initial ordering to the final sales. It was also interesting (combined with my previous job experiences) to see first hand how differently each company could approach their product flow processes.

SewWhatFun specializes in personalized holiday and general attire merchandise. My primary job was personalizing the merchandise as specified by the customer. I handled most embroidery related products (hats, shirts, bags, stockings, etc.) and was trained in printing related products (tee-shirts with custom designs). During my time there, I also monitored and communicated the available materials and product quality.

I was one of the initial members of the store and helped during the week of the stores first operation, working closely with my team members and the store owners. I did a variety of roles both front of house and back including: Cashier, Runner, Prepper, Store-opener, and Store-closer. I most often closed the store which included a variety of jobs like cleaning and prepping the store for the next day and dismantling and cleaning the frozen yogurt machines.
