I'm currently a third-grade classroom teacher at Anderson Elementary. In this past year I worked as a roving science teacher and reading interventionist at Peavine Elementary. Alongside my teaching commitments, I also diligently pursued a master’s degree in elementary education, which underscores my dedication to professional growth.My teaching journey has been diverse, encompassing various roles and grade levels. Prior to my current positions, I predominantly engaged with upper elementary students, primarily fourth and fifth graders, through tutoring and practicum experiences. I also student taught in first grade at Roy Gomm and fifth grade at Westergard. This broad spectrum of experience, spanning from substituting to intensive graduate coursework, has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of both upper and lower elementary education.A cornerstone of my teaching philosophy is fostering meaningful connections with my students, ensuring they thrive in a nurturing and intellectually stimulating environment. I am deeply committed to upholding high academic standards and nurturing a positive classroom culture that encourages curiosity and growth.Being a Native Nevadan instills in me a profound sense of responsibility to give back to my community, leveraging the invaluable knowledge and support I received from the Washoe and Storey County School Districts. am steadfast in my commitment to continue serving the educational needs of Northern Nevada.My journey to elementary education was not predetermined; originally, I aspired to become a professor of English writing. However, a serendipitous experience substitute teaching in 2020 revealed my true passion for teaching. I am genuinely amazed by the transformative power of education and the joy it brings to both students and educators alike.With unwavering dedication, I pledge to empower all my future scholars with the foundational skills necessary for success in academia and beyond.
