As a student intern in Women’s Health Administration, I was exposed to a wide range of healthcare leadership tasks in addition to championing my own project related to the implementation of trauma-informed care in screening mammography. In collaboration with team members from community and population health, healthcare innovation, patient experience, and more, I completed extensive research, observation, and evaluation of the current process. In my final white paper, I performed gap analysis to determine how the Center for Breast Health can better serve patients who may have experienced trauma.

I served as a tutor and mentor for children at Broughal Middle School and Fountain Hill Elementary School Homework Club through Lehigh's Community Service Office. At Broughal Middle School, I spent time working with students one-on-one in an ELL (English Language Learner) classroom as well as learning support. I also provided supplemental instruction to students in math, science, and english/language arts classes. At Homework Club, I worked one-on-one with elementary students after school to develop their reading, writing, and math skills.

I traveled to local schools and daycares to interview four-, seven-, and ten-year-olds, collecting data on mentalistic and normative thought patterns. I also conducted virtual interviews with five-, seven-, and nine-year-olds to investigate their knowledge of COVID-19 and germs in general. In addition to data collection, I assisted with transcription and coding of existing data.
