Wild Rice Films crew worked with @hriracing to create an online and TV advert to promote horse racing ownership in Ireland. We produced two adverts for HRI one in English and another in Irish for TG4.Owning and racing in Ireland combines a long tradition of excellent horsemanship with a nation whose passion and understanding of the thoroughbred racehorse is recognised the world over.Irish racing puts the owner at the heart of a sport in a country where the horse has been at the centre of Irish life for generations. Restoration work in Wakefield uncovered the timber frame of what could be the oldest surviving medieval timber building in the city.The discovery was made during conservation work at 6 and 8 Silver Street (home to the Black Swan pub) as part of the Historic England Wakefield Upper Westgate High Street Heritage Action Zone.'Originally, the building was covered with expanded metal mesh and cement render, but I knew there was something really quite special hidden underneath', says Britt Harwood, Conservation Architect for INC. Architecture Ltd.'What was uncovered was a 3-story jettied timber frame building probably dating from 1590.'Our High Street Heritage Action Zone has also seen work done to restore the original sandstone frontage of the ICON bar, which was covered entirely in granite, and to renovate the original awnings at Lobby 1867.

In the summer of 2023, more than 60,000 people came together for Hi! Street Fest, a series of community-led street parties and carnivals celebrating England’s high streets.At the centre of the celebrations was a large-scale puppet, a curious fox named Farrah, who travelled the country on her scooter to find out what makes high streets so special. Taller than a double-decker bus, Farrah visited Lowestoft, Gloucester, Wigan, Gosport, Middlesbrough, Stalybridge, and Greenwich. In 6 of the high streets, she was greeted by a larger-than-life, locally-inspired host puppet. Through working in partnership with Emergency Exit Arts (EEA), one of Britain’s pioneering outdoor arts companies, each high street offered a unique mix of dance, music and performance as hundreds of local volunteers worked together to celebrate the history and heritage of where they live. In celebrating what makes each high street special to its communities, Hi! Street Fest marks a dazzling finale to Historic England’s High Street Heritage Action Zones cultural programme, a four-year programme to revitalise more than 60 high streets.

Brierley Hill resident Tim Sunter took up bellringing in 2014 after seeing a tweet saying that the bells of St Michael’s didn’t ring anymore.In 2017, Tim and his wife Jenny were handed the keys to St Michael’s Church tower so the bells, which supposedly weigh the equivalent of 3 Mini cars, could ring out over the town again.The Grade II listed St Michael’s Church in Brierley Hill, near Dudley in the West Midlands, was built in 1765, with several alterations during the 1800s. In 1900 the bell tower was returned to its original 18th century style. The church bells would originally have called local parishioners to service at the Anglican church.The band now has volunteer ringers aged 9 to 75, who ring the bells at practice on Friday evenings and before church services on Sundays.One of the challenges was how to get new ringers trained without disturbing the church’s neighbours. As part of the Historic England Brierley Hill High Street Heritage Action Zone, a £1,500 grant was awarded to St Michael’s Church's bell ringers to buy equipment that allows them to practice in silence and as individuals outside of group gatherings.

Supermac's Family Road Trip - A new campaignTo market the Supermac's brand, we showcased the provenance of their ingredients through a short story following Pat and his grandchildren exploring and discovering the people and the locations where some of Supermac's most prominent products are produced.Our campaign received over 1.4M Views between Facebook and instagram.

We are delighted to announce that our award-winning House of Memories dementia awareness programme has launched in Wales! Wild Rice Films felt very proud to be part of this project as it is something close to our hearts. We create a range of bilingual videos to help carers and patients who have a loved one with dementia.Funded by the Welsh Government, House of Memories Cymru is a dual-language dementia awareness programme. It includes a dual-language app, My House of Memories, as well as a range of training, workshops, and activities. Our aim is to enable families and caregivers to support people living with dementia through person-centred care.
