The Financial Data Management team serves as the center of excellence for Microsoft Finance by establishing frameworks, providing best practices, developing training resources and conducting deep analysis on financial data. We ensure that Microsoft's financial transactions and reporting meet corporate standards.As a finance manager, I am focused on the change management processes for the COGS and OpEx hierarchy, which is used for both external and internal financial reporting.Responsibilities and accomplishments include:- Served as a subject matter expert in financial data structure and governance- Developed, owned, and evolved company-wide processes- Provided metric administration support for externally reported non-financial metrics, such as monthly active usage by reviewing and testing process controls; prevented external reporting of incorrect or incomplete information- Provided governance, ensured compliance of controls

The 787 Dreamliner reinvents fleet plans and transforms business plans of airlines around the world. As a financial analyst, I am responsible for developing and implementing efficient processes and tools that make data more actionable, increase capacity, and drive business results.Responsibilities and accomplishments include:- Increased overall employee capacity by automating Excel reports and writing advanced SQL to retrieve and manipulate data from databases and DAX to perform complex calculations- Consulted the 787 Financial Planning and Analysis team and management by maintaining the 787 Program’s warranty forecast, communicating quarterly variances in actuals, and assessing cost impacts of special requests to the 787 Program’s financial statements- Redesigned and re-implemented monthly audit process for warranty reports – audit processes allow analysts to quickly identify anomalies and errors in charging- Revamped existing and outdated training material and packages to ensure successful onboarding of new employees and summer interns- Taught introductory statistics classes to interns and employees in the finance team and facilitated discussions regarding best practices and statistics measures and their applications- Served as a member of the Finance Fun Team by facilitating several social and community service projects, such as the employee summer picnic and the Spirit of the Holidays, a charitable drive that provides holiday gifts to underprivileged families and senior citizens in King and Snohomish County
