With a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and two Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Spanish Language, complemented by a Health Communication Certificate, I am equipped with a solid foundation to tackle complex public health challenges.During my time at the University of Illinois at Chicago, I gained hands-on experience and honed my skills across various facets of public health. My work with the Evaluation of the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program allowed me to demonstrate proficiency in SAS statistical software and the Joinpoint regression program while producing comprehensive written reports. As a Research Communication Center Agent, I effectively communicated study-related information and captured self-reported data.Additionally, I interned at the Chicago Department of Public Health, where I conducted research on factors associated with Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination uptake among patients at Chicago Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) Specialty Clinics. This project was presented at a conference, showcasing our findings and contributing to the broader discourse on HPV vaccination.My primary areas of interest lie in breast and cervical cancer, and I am passionate about advancing research and public health initiatives that focus on early detection, prevention, and improving health outcomes for individuals affected by these cancers.
