Growing up in the northern suburbs of Chicago, I often heard at school conferences that I was, "very smart, with lots of potential, but never quite where everyone else is." Following an ADHD diagnosis and a lot of soul-searching, my path was clear: to empower children with the necessary support to thrive in their own unique ways. Having completed my degree in Developmental Psychology with a minor in Creative Writing at UIUC, I am driven to further this mission by currently pursuing a master's in School Psychology at Illinois State University.My passion for working with children has been nurtured through my involvement in a research lab, where I've had the joy of interacting with infants for nearly two years. Additionally, my diverse experiences, including roles in food service, camp counseling, and coaching, have equipped me with invaluable skills and a resilient attitude.My writing, particularly my award-winning piece that delved into the theme of disability, underscores my commitment to using creativity as a tool for empathy and understanding. In the journey ahead, I intend to blend my academic background and creative spirit to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners.
