Gracelyn began her career in the arts young, blessed with the opportunity to attend music-and-arts-based academic facilities throughout her upbringing on the sunny central coast of California. After graduating from Atascadero High School in 2013, she attended Cuesta College, receiving A.A.’s in both Jazz Studies and Music Performance. She then was offered a full-tuition scholarship thanks to the Ella Fitzgerald Charitable Foundation to attend Cal State Long Beach’s Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, where she earned her Bachelor’s in Jazz Studies—Voice, with additional concentrations in Trombone and Composition. She graduated with honors in the spring of 2019. After graduation, Gracelyn continued teaching music, participating in LA’s vast music scene, recording with notable artists, and playing at world-class venues such as the Hollywood Bowl and Microsoft Theater. She also toured her music extensively in Europe, South America, and across the United States. In 2020, Gracelyn decided to continue her education, first by earning a Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard University’s Derek Bok Center of Teaching & Learning, tailoring her studies there to focus on collegiate music education. She then earned a Master of Arts in Public Policy with a concentration in campaigning and elections which she was blessed to acquire while on a full academic scholarship at Liberty University’s Helms School of Government. On May 11th, 2023, Gracelyn received this master's degree, graduating with distinction, in addition to being awarded the Dean's Leadership Award, singing the national anthem at her ceremony, and even ending the day with a proposal from her now fiancé, Jacob. Currently, Gracelyn works full-time at Liberty doing communications and media for the Helms School of Government; there, she also holds the position of Director of Promotions for the Journal of Statesmanship and Public Policy, her previous roles with the academic journal include Communication’s Director and Editor-In-Chief for Domestic Policy. Outside of Liberty, Gracelyn serves as the Worship Leader and Director of Media at a local church, Chestnut Hill Baptist Church. Gracelyn is also currently pursuing her Doctorate in Music Education at Liberty, further sharpening her skills in the arts and humanities fields. All-in-all, Gracelyn strives to follow whatever path the Lord lays out for her life, though she prays it keeps her utilizing her creativity and love for helping others.
