McEwen Lab:• Researched drugs and hormones with potential to reduce anxiety behaviors resulting from stress-induced brain damage in mouse and rodent models; developed novel coding technique to improve accuracy of regional brain data mapping and analysis.

Grosz Lab:• Member of S-CASTS intercollegiate research team focused on improving student learning in chemistry and mathematics via collaborative human-machine interfaces and software.• Analyzed 3000+ pages of student click-stream data logs to uncover learning heuristics and create "virtual lab" scripts; built pattern recognition algorithms to monitor student progress and flag exceptions.

Machine Learning Systems Group:• Built decision tree, spectral angle mapper and parallelepiped classifiers using NASA/ESA satellite images to: 1) identify hydrated sulfates on Mars; 2) track algal bloom in the Baltic Sea; and 3) classify sulfur ice from Canada’s Borup fjord, analogous to Jupiter's moon Europa.• Results published and presented at American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Infotech Conference (AIAA), April 2009.
