I am a multidisciplinary creative and connector, a wanderer through written texts, cultural artifacts, and foreign lands. My love belongs to all things art, guided by concept—curated and interwoven ideas and color stories within the context of place, history, and culture, expressed through a love of process, lived experience, and the search for meaning.Concept-obsessed and driven by artistic vision and new world creation, I excel and find the most joy in meshing different worlds, whether through curation, creative direction, collection development, or community building. With degrees in Textile and Theology and experience across nonprofits, corporate fashion, and entrepreneurship, I bring a hope-oriented, synergetic approach and an editor’s eye to cooperative ventures that bring ideas to life. I am also fueled by big-picture thinking and strategy, always seeking to create cohesive narratives that resonate, inspire, and uncover deeper layers of meaning.I am currently seeking new opportunities that merge art and social entrepreneurship. Let’s connect and explore how we can work together.Contact: gracemallonchen@gmail.com

Menswear DesignerNautica Feb 2014 - May 2018New York, New YorkSPORTSWEAR LIFESTYLE | STREET AESTHETIC | CONCEPT DRIVENNautica is a global lifestyle brand, founded in 1983, with a rich history rooted in traditional sportswear and a heritage that has seamlessly crossed over into street culture. As part of the menswear design team, I've had the pleasure of contributing to a wide range of design projects, targeting varied yet focused markets—from limited edition golf collections to the Blue Sail Macy's exclusive line, in-house artist series, and collaborations with Lil Yachty and Urban Outfitters.I've enjoyed managing the creative and production cycles of hundreds of products simultaneously. Seeing our products evolve from concept to retail offers a unique creative satisfaction—it's like sharing a piece of myself with the world.Navigating the myriad changes—product shifts, division mergers, rebranding strategies, and leadership transitions—was challenging at times, but it ultimately strengthened our team and brought us closer together. What I loved most was co-creating our seasonal set room—a truly collaborative and essential communicative act. It not only set the tone for the season but also served as a visual guide, keeping us focused through countless color, style, and fabric edits, revisions, and pricing challenges. The set room helped us design with integrity, staying true to the conceptual vision that distinguishes a brand from its competitors. -
