Currently, cancer is a significant global burden, with over 18 million cases recorded as of 2020 (WHO, 2022). Despite treatment advances, curing the majority of patients remains a challenge.As a young scientist, I want to explore new ways of fighting cancer using advanced technologies. I have therefore embarked on research aimed at improving the imaging and targeting of cancerous tumours, addressing the challenges faced by standard treatments in the clinic. I am a few months into my PhD at the Werner Siemens Imaging Centre (University of Tübingen) with a research focus on preclinical imaging in various cancer contexts, in particular highly specific cancer targeting using radiolabelled antibody technology.This field has the potential to significantly improve cancer diagnoses in the future. Engineered antibodies have shown promise in enabling imaging and targeted therapy of cancers. I am always keen to share more about my work and collaborate with researchers who share similar interests.Additionally, I would like to use LinkedIn to communicate with the broader community about science, being a woman in STEM, and my experiences as a PhD student.
