As Financial Controller my responsibilities covered all finance functions with a larger focus on management reporting, cash flow management and tax compliance.

I was the Financial Controller of Frasers (FPA) division during the integration of the Frasers (FPA)/Australand businesses. My main objectives were the finance staff integration and SAP implementation which was achieved at the end of 2015. My team included Project Accountants and Accounts Payable.

With a strong client focus, I provided full finance support to the Development Director and Project Team for the Putney Hill Project. Other achievements included streamlining procedures for:-• the consolidation of Frasers Property Australia Group; and • reporting for the Board, Project Control Group and Banks.

Brainmates is a small company providing product management consultancy and training services to medium/large organisations. I performed the full finance function including financial accounting, management reporting, cash flow management, project accounting, tax compliance (incl BAS), accounts payable/receivable and payroll. Key achievements included improved controls around tax compliance and reduced reliance on external accounting/tax consultants.

As Tax Compliance Manager, I prepared tax effect accounting for the Branch and the tax consolidated group for the purposes of annual statutory reporting, monthly local reporting and quarterly Swiss reporting. In addition, my role was responsible for:• the preparation of annual income tax returns• transfer pricing compliance and documentation• tax risk reporting• ATO liaison (including information requests)• review of GST, FBT and AIIR returns

The main objective of the Logistics BUC function was to be the direct and allocated cost experts of the bank. I provided both finance support to the logistics functions and financial operations services to all divisions. This involved managing a team of Management Accountants, Accounts Payable and Payroll. In addition, I co-ordinated APAC Financial Operations change the bank projects. My key achievements included project management for APAC of the implementation of an on-line invoice processing workflow, an on-line staff claims and AMEX processing system and off-shoring of Accounts Payable to India.

I was responsible for the financial accounting for companies in stock broking (institutional and retail), margin lending, cash management trust, administration, futures and corporate advisory. I co-ordinated year end and half year audits for the group; prepared statutory accounts, tax effect accounting, corporate income tax and FBT returns; lodged ASX Return under Rule 1A; implemented Peoplesoft general ledger; and managed Financial Accountants, Payroll and Accounts Payable staff.

Generally 50% mix of tax and accounting/audit functions. I prepared income tax returns and financial statements for individuals, companies, partnerships, trusts, deceased estates and superannuation funds; provided advice on Income tax, Capital Gains tax, Fringe Benefits tax; audited securities dealers license holders and superannuation funds; performed company secretarial services; managed junior accountants.
