My primary duties as Performance Manager include coordinating local and regional performance opportunities for the group, communicating with various event directors and other student organization leaders, and equipping The Harmonettes with important information and details so they feel well prepared for performances. On top of this, I spearhead the planning of two end-of-semester concerts; my duties include picking a date and concert venue, hiring sound engineers, recording and editing concert videos, and overseeing additional task delegation. Accessibility and inclusion has been a priority for work in this role. For our most recent Fall 2023 concert, I made sure to pick a venue that had gender inclusive restrooms within navigation of the auditorium, as well as ramps/elevators as a nearby alternative to staircases. Additionally, I created a ticket form where attendees could request accommodations such as seat reservation or space for physical mobility aids.

Within Epsilon Eta, my time is spent attending professional workshops and speaker events, volunteering at organizations such as the Maize and Blue Food Cupboard and the UM Campus Farm, and reflecting on how I can shift and expand on my current environmental values. I have participated in the Communication and Education (FA23) and Clean Energy (WN23) Climate Committees, where I worked with a small team to create an educational deliverable on each respective topic to be shared with the greater public. I am looking forward to continuing participating in future semesters.

I have been working on a project optimizing the in situ Toxicity Identification Evaluation (iTIE) Technology, a field assessment technology that accurately links chemical class exposures with effects, allowing for more cost-effective monitoring and remediation decisions. I am comfortable maintaining healthy invertebrate cultures, analyzing samples in a spectrophotometer, assembling and deploying novel field technology, and performing various water quality tests.I am currently leading a project on sediment composition analysis to characterize the sediments in which the iTIE will perform the best. This project has allowed me to design and execute experiments using a hydrometer, analyze samples to determine soil particle size distribution of various sediment samples, and communicate research findings.
