Emirates Old Trafford is an award-winning, complete business venue, offering intelligent event spaces, as well as an on-site 150-bedroom Hilton Garden Inn and Caffè Nero.As Content & Comms Exec for the venue, my role involved creating an effective communications plans for implementation across the Conference and Events business, as well as the hotel, and managing all corporate communications for the Club.A large focus of my role was to generate positive coverage for the brand within national, regional and trade media, as well as to promote the hotel to the leisure market. I worked closely with the venue marketing team to create impactful content for the brand, for C&E newsletters, owned and third party channels, and also managed the Club's social media channels.Alongside this, I was responsible for internal communications, a crucial role in keeping colleagues informed about the wider activities in the business. My role wasn't just limited to the venue, as I regularly worked with senior management on wider brand projects.I worked closely with the Club's creative agency to brief and deliver creative content, which included but wasn't limited to digital assets, marketing collateral and social media campaigns.Additionally, I collaborated with the cricket marketing and comms team to create content for owned and third party channels, and worked alongside the commercial team to create newsworthy press releases focused on partnership announcements, thought leadership content and activations.

My role as Account Executive involves me working across a variety of consumer and B2B accounts, for social media and traditional PR activity, including food and drink, education, employment and health sectors for high profile clients.The role involves managing a number of clients, who I liaise with on a daily basis, involving superb communication and organisational skills. I have successfully secured high quality national and regional coverage for my clients on a number of occasions and have developed relationships with key media contacts.The role requires writing a variety of editorial content to tight deadlines, such as press releases, features, blogs and social media content, requiring excellent copywriting skills.

Including my barmaid and waitressing responsibilities, the role demands the management of the team in the manager's absence, supporting the manager with leading the team when on duty and running the pub on a day to day basis, including maintaining the cellar and liaising with suppliers. The role also involves the management of marketing activity for the pub, combining the implementation of new marketing campaigns, the management of social channels and increasing customer engagement.

Working around my placement, this role involved me introducing and implementing a Marketing strategy for the establishment in order to reach new and existing customers. I project managed the re-brand of the establishment and created the Marketing activity in order to generate maximum profits and attract a higher level of clientèle. With the hospitality market being highly competitive, it was my responsibility to ensure that the brand created a realistic marketing objective in order to allow the establishment to grow and achieve maximum results. I also built relationships with local businesses and within the community, to ensure that the brand stood out from competitors.

This has given me the opportunity to practice communicational skills and includes a variety of customer service roles, including consistently delivering excellent customer service.

Edgbaston Stadium

As part of my degree course, I secured a 12 month placement with Warwickshire County Cricket Club. The role involved working closely with our sponsors - creating new and building on current business relationships, working with and supporting the Commercial team in their Business and Marketing activities and also doing day-to-day office tasks, including mail merging.The role required me to organise members events for up to 150 members and also, to manage various projects. During my time, I co-managed our junior membership, a project in which Iiaised with and presented to the local community schools and our Community Development Manager, in order to execute an interactive area for the younger audience. I also managed our Volunteer Scheme, where I led a large group of people who work in a variety of roles at our Domestic Match Days, and our Major Match Days, such as the Investec Ashes and NatWest T20 Finals Day.Communication was a key aspect of the role, where I handled customer queries and complaints on a daily basis and responded to these in a professional and efficient manner. I worked closely with the Digital Media Producer in the creation of Club Creative and assisted in the delivery of the Club's Social Media campaign.
