Originally from Washington state, I graduated in 2021 from Mills College in California with a BA in English & Creative Writing. I spent much of my time at earning my undergraduate degree as I did during childhood: in the library. It has always been a place that gave me the great comfort and peace.While finishing my last year and a half remotely in Maine during COVID-19, I leveraged my writing, editing, and project management skills outside of the linear career module. Instead of seeking virtual internships and missing out on the collaborative element of work that I enjoy most, I went a different direction.In 2021, I started my freelance journey and marketed myself as a virtual assistant. By acting as a support role for many different clients, I was helping entrepreneurs and writers free up space and meet their goals faster. Some of my favorite jobs involved book formatting, editing and proofreading, writing copy for digital and print marketing, and managing deadlines for projects and goals my client and I set together. As much as I have enjoyed the learning experiences I had during that time, I am ready to join a team of people who share my passions for beautiful, well-written books.I operate well with a dynamic team of writers, readers, designers, listeners, and speakers. I believe that collaboration is at the core of creativity and brilliance. My goal is to learn more about every aspect of the literary industry and to gain hands-on experience in publishing to see where I would fit best.
