From a young age, I have created and been involved with the creation of student-made documentaries and digital storytelling ranging from discussions about the lack of school funding to social justice issues. Part of what I aspire to do in my journey is to be able to give back to my community with whatever skills I have already acquired as well as the ones I have yet to grasp. Throughout any future careers, I hope to be able to give back to my community by engaging in digital spaces and tools to explore and share perspectives on current issues in my community. Because I started working with digital media at a young and vulnerable age, I wanted to be able to help students find a passion to do something that they love, which is why I worked with students from an Allentown high school named Building 21 in their "Pathways" program through a digital-learning partnership with Muhlenberg College. These Pathways are designed to students' own strengths, interests, and passions that shape a foundation towards college and career readiness. I came in as a digital learning assistant to aid these students in creating their own digital media stories. Working with media, through media, and being able to give back to my community at the same time, is as fulfilling to me as it could possibly be.
