About Gracie Young
As a third year student at the University of North Carolina, I am passionate about exploring peacebuilding strategies in fragile states and how international law can be better mobilized for those it is meant to protect. This is an exploration I hope to continue after graduation as I plan to study international humanitarian law.This fall, I am sharpening my skills with critical dialogue as an Agora Fellow in the Program for Public Discourse, continuing to expand and strengthen UNC’s Model United Nations Team as a head delegate, and honing my legal knowledge as an intern at Legal Aid of North Carolina.This summer, at the Law & Society Institute in Amman I had the opportunity to conduct legal research on humanitarian law and support experts in drafting strategies for greater legal accessibility throughout Jordan. I am continually looking for experiences to engage with international law and deepen my understanding of humanitarian aid.
