I was KPMG's National State and Local Tax Leader for the Communications Industry for 10 years and have more than 25 years experience in the communications industry. I have extensive experience in state income/franchise taxes, sales and use taxes, federal excise taxes, and the multitude of transaction taxes, fees and surcharges that are imposed on telecommunications companies and their customers. Further, I have substantial experience in providing tax analysis and due diligence reviews for perspective merger and acquisition transactions on behalf of private equity and strategic business clients.My experience crosses all segments of the communications industry, including traditional wireline telecommunications providers, incumbent and competitive local exchange carriers, Internet service providers, wireless and MVNO communications companies, voice over Internet protocol providers, cloud communications providers and cable television companies.
