Detective ConstableThames Valley Police 2016 - 2018Bletchley And BanburyI left the uniformed role (Response) in Milton Keynes in Jan/Feb 2016 and joined Bletchley Child Abuse Investigation Unit as a PC. By now I had passed my Investigator's exam AND my Sergeant's exam (1st in TVP, 6th in the country). I decided to become a detective before a sergeant and joined Banbury CAIU where I stayed until I passed the Sgt's board (Nov 2017).I really loved my time in Child Abuse, helping people who have lived through horrendous experiences. Some terrific results, both in terms of sentences and victims saying 'Thank you for believing me'. A wonderful department, which I really enjoyed working in.

They were very supportive all through the process and before I knew where I was I was no longer flying the world in Business Class and staying in top hotels - I was in a classroom with 19 year olds who was sure I was a plant from the Professional Standards Department!I was sent to Milton Keynes and I spent 2 years in a response role there, loving every minute (well, except the late night/early morning Nightsafe patrols!) before being sent off to Child Abuse on attachment.
