To Lead and motivate a team of Department Managers to deliver set objectivesEffectively engage and liaise with a range of key stakeholders across John Lewis Merchandising teams (52 Merch offices), Merchandising Operations, 6 John Lewis National Distribution Centres (total of 3.2 million sq ft of storage) and an array of different supplier bases to achieve National Distribution Centre throughput and maximise warehouse capacity against the expected business throughput of various product from 1man to 2 man stock profiles/volumesSet and agree business inbound volumes into the 6 national distribution centres with both operational distribution centre leads and Merchandising teams to ensure distribution site storage capacity is not breached, but also to ensure both business availability and sales are not compromised. Total units passing through all 6 national distribution centres in 2017 was 175 million units across 340,000 different sku’s.Maximise network storage capacity through stock management and control of aged/deleted stock, working with both operational distribution teams and capacity modelling manager to maintain network storage capacity.Oversee and implement compliance standards, to ensure all suppliers delivering into the John Lewis Distribution Centres abide by the compliance standards set out for delivery into the supply chain.This included implementing and overseeing a Cost Recovery process to recoup revenue from non compliant suppliers, averaging over 1 million GBP since 2013 in recompense for non compliant standards.Effectively plan and manage seasonal and event based throughput (Clearance/Reduced to clear promotions) & or high profile launches (eg Ipad, PS4 etc) through the National Distribution Centres network, in liaison with the merchandising teams in head office and distribution site leads/teams across the 6 national distribution centres to ensure maximum sales opportunities.Tender and agree additional 3rd party storage space when required

Lead and motivate a team of warehouse operational Section Managers and Partners (staff)/Agency across 3 shifts to ensure the receiving, picking and dispatch of stock to customers and John Lewis Stores was maintained in relation to expected and changing KPI’s in line with demand.Manage resource requirements, training and recruitment needs to ensure adequate and appropriate resource levels to meet operational demands through the various trading periods.Planning for future development in line with strategic business objectives and growth for this area of the warehouse operation.Ensuring the building meets health and safety requirements and that facilities comply with legislation as well as facilitating and ensuring working practices were covered by risk management evaluations

Lead and motivate a team of over 50 warehouse operational Partners (staff)/Agency across 2 shifts to ensure the receiving of stock into John Lewis was maintained in relation to expected and changing KPI’s in line with demand.Mapping out and implementing all working practices in line with all receiving processes into 700,000 sq ft distribution centre, including onward destination of stock to other areas of the distribution centre.Continuing to carry out continuous improvement events to maintain performance in line with increased KPI focus.Carrying out and resolving Disciplinary and Grievance on Partners (staff) where this was required.Planning best allocation and utilisation of space/resources for new buildings, or re-organising current Premises.
