Leading a diverse Directorate covering the areas of Urban Regeneration (Canning City Centre), Statutory and Strategic Planning, Developer Contributions, Metronet Liaison, Public Art, Building Services, Development Engineering, Strategic Transport, Environmental Health, Corporate Strategy, Major Projects (PMO) and Compliance Services. Highlights include implementation of the City Centre Regeneration Program, adoption of new Local Planning Strategy and Town Planning Scheme, establishing the City's first Design Review Panel, adoption of the Cannington Activity Centre Plan and Queens Park Local Structure Plan, adoption of Public Art Strategy, adoption of the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework (IPRF) documents including the Strategic Community Plan (2021-2031) and Corporate Business Plan (2021-2025), preparation of Annual Reports (2021 and 2022 financial years), adoption of Public Health Plan and completion of Local Law Review (seven Local Laws). Was also Recovery Coordinator for the City during the COVID-19 Pandemic and have acted as CEO for in excess of nine months throughout this period.

Had oversight of land utilisation, economic development, assets, a suite of regulatory services including statutory planning, building, compliance and environmental health during a time when the City had transitioned to Commissioners.

Modernised and improved the efficiency of the City’s Urban Planning and Building Services.

Was responsible for guiding growth in this regional city which involved heritage protection, environmental assessment, coastal planning, town centre regeneration, bushfire management, rural planning, sustainability and urban expansion (residential, commercial and industrial). Highlights included the adoption of the Albany Central Area Master Plan (Town Centre Regeneration), adoption of the Albany Waterfront Planning Framework, adoption of Little Grove, McKail, Bayonet Head and Big Grove Structure Plans and adoption of the City’s first Local Planning Strategy and new Planning Scheme. Had responsibility for Statutory and Strategic Planning, Rangers, Land Administration, Development Engineering, Urban Regeneration, Emergency Management, Bush Fire Brigades, Environmental Health, Building Services and Compliance Services.

Albany, Western Australia

Reported to CEO and undertook a range of special projects, internal audits, research, policy reviews, preparation of business plans and reviewed project management framework. Was also responsible for Elected Member liaison and preparation of Council agendas.

Managed a diverse portfolio of Town Planning (Statutory and Strategic), Urban Regeneration, Emergency Management and Ranger Services. Undertook a review of the City’s Bushfire Management Plan and developed the City's Albany Central Area Urban Design Policy, looking at balancing development potential and heritage preservation within one of Western Australia's Premier Heritage Precincts.

Undertook review of City’s Local Planning Policy Framework, Local Planning Scheme and Local Planning Strategy and processed large and complex scheme amendments and development applications.

Undertook subdivision designs, prepared development applications and rezoning proposals and contributed to structure plans and urban design studies (including planning and urban design work around several Perth train stations).

Undertook assessment of urban and rural planning applications and was involved in the planning and assessment of the Treendale and Kingston Structure Plans and several large commercial developments in Australind.
