Responsible for engaging the business in developing sustainable and profitable vendor relationships; focusing on continuous improvement in key vendor value chains to reduce the cost of doing business; aiding stock reduction through innovative solutions, such as consignment stock and vendor managed inventory; consolidation of vendor base to drive focus, growth and resource towards aligned and profitable vendors; increasing cross functional awareness to minimise the risk and cost of vendor failures; and improving business cash flow

Responsible for facilitating robust vendor strategies that would enable the business to support the customer propositions required to become the ‘First & Only’ destination for UK Home Improvement. Developing tools, processes and training to support the commercial department to be market leaders

Responsible for identifying, supporting, negotiating and tracking Cost Price Reductions. Utilising varying purchasing techniques such as value chain analysis; value of growth; value engineering; bundling; long term deals; resourcing; direct importing; e sourcing

Responsible for all indirect unit purchasing, supplier forecasting and replenishment to coincide with customer demand planning. Member of the group synergy board.

Identifying and managing the best global producers and distributors to optimise the supply chain on short shelf life products. Managing a purchasing and quality assurance team to guarantee customer specification and satisfaction.

Hands on management role that gave early exposure to the operational, commercial and financial demands of big business. Managing teams of up to twenty people with successful launch of 3 new stores.
