As CLO I report to the Algorand Foundation's CEO and am a member of the executive management team, leading initiatives and activities in strategy, legal, operations and government affairs. Algorand is an energy-efficient, quantum-secure, single-layer blockchain with instant finality, consistently high throughput, and low fees. It was founded by MIT professor and Turing Prize winner, Silvio Micali. The Algorand Foundation's mission is to enable an inclusive, decentralised and borderless global ecosystem to provide financial freedom, digital ownership and efficient transactions for all. Prior to joining the Algorand Foundation, I was CoinShares' Group General Counsel for 5 years. Listed on Nasdaq Stockholm, CoinShares is Europe's leading alternative asset manager specialising in digital assets. At CoinShares I was a Director, Chair of the Risk and Compliance Committee and a senior member of the Executive Committee, leading its legal, regulatory, compliance and company secretarial teams, globally. I have extensive experience in navigating the fast changing digital asset regulatory environment in the UK, Europe and the US. Previously, as senior legal counsel at Aviva plc, I advised on: mergers and acquisitions; venture capital funding and more general corporate matters (including data protection, regulatory compliance and anti-trust). Before that, at White & Case, I represented underwriters and issuers on a range of debt and equity capital market transactions, including offerings of eurobonds, equity-linked instruments and regulatory capital instruments. I trained and qualified as a Solicitor at Linklaters, where I spent eighteen months working from their Moscow office, assisting on groundbreaking deals for issuers such as Gazprom, TMK, and TNK BP.
