The Faculty of Engineering at Yamaguchi University established the Global Engineers Development Center (GEDC) in October 2012. The principal aim of the center is to educate and prepare undergraduate and graduate STEM students for future roles as global engineers. Duties/achievements include:- providing EAP/ESP classes to undergraduate and graduate STEM students with a focus on academic writing. - designing and developing an EAP/ESP curriculum for undergraduate and graduate STEM students - writing and publishing MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) approved EAP/ESP textbooks for undergraduate and graduate engineering students- participating in the development of Yamaguchi University’s study abroad programme- composing and delivering presentations on behalf of Yamaguchi University at regional & national events- carrying out academic research in EAP/ESP in an effort to further enhance Yamaguchi University’s English language programme.- delivering TOEIC/TOEFL/IELTS test preparation lessons
