This company was formed between my partner and I to fill a lifelong dream of becoming boat builders. The company purchased a set of boat moulds and produced 5 units successfully. Sales of the final product proved to be difficult due to a saturated used boat market which ultimately led to the business becoming more of a hobby than a profitable business and soon after the decision was made to close company down.My role within the partnership , due to my experience with composites, was operationally, executing the manufacture of the boats.

*$ 500 000 Factory revamp (I managed the execution of the project) implemented after it was taken over by new owners.*I took over a factory that used old, labor intensive and very inefficient processes for manufacturing geysers andinstalled some new equipment. The manufacturing process was streamlined and the final product was of a far greater standard.*Headed up the photovoltaic division and formed relationships with foreign suppliers for solar panels, Inverters and solar specific batteries.*Created system design templates and work files for ease of quoting and costing.*Projects included: Over 30 Solar Inverter installations for residential and commercial applications in 6 months with a team of 3 installers

(6 month contract )CSI Mining is one of only two companies in Africa to manufacture Polymer Concrete Electrowinning Unicells for mines.*Led a team of designers and steel smiths to create a mould for a new concept unicell.*As Project Manager, I was responsible for ensuring the design aligned with expected new copper yields by client.*Implemented the manufacture of 120 Unicells with a contract value of $2, 56 million.*Ensured Delivery to the DRC mine of each cell, weighing 8 tonnes and 4 cells per load.*Project Installation begun on site where I reported daily to the mine manager and process manager as the client liaison for CSI. Team size was 27 members and strict mine safety and compliance was followed.*My Team worked under immense pressure ensuring no down time of mine operations and providing consistent performance throughout the 6 months. Motivation and maintaining morale was key as a team leader.*Consulted on similar projects in the DRC during this time to negotiate a further two mines into installing the same unicell.
