He commenced working in engineering and construction in 1981. Graeme then ventured to the UK in 1987 and worked on projects in London.Upon his return to NZ, Graeme held various positions as Engineer and Project Manager from 1990 to 1998. He joined Hiway Stabilizers Group in 1998 and spent 17 years in various roles including Estimating Manager, Business Development Manager, Division General Manager. In 2002 he initiated formation of Hiway Geotechnical, specializing in Ground Improvement, slope stabilization, geohazard stabilization, and Environmental – contaminated site remediation. Graeme pioneered deep soil mixing in New Zealand. He has extensive knowledge with marketing, business development, design build contracts, project management, negotiating contracts, planning, project implementation, and has successfully completed numerous projects under his direction. He has managed complex and challenging projects up to $ tens of millions in value. His combined experience includes civil engineering, construction and business management with strong geotechnical and leadership skills.In 2017 Graeme initiated the formation of the Joint Venture business HGS in New Zealand. In October 2019, a buyout and acquisition of the JV company HGS was concluded leading to the formation of Geostabilization NZ Ltd which is backed by GSI. The NZ management team and owners brings a wealth of specialist knowledge and expertise across the Geohazard and Ground Engineering sectors .Graeme brings together the combined skills, experience, know how and passionate culture of GSI. The company have been involved in major Rockfall stabilization works in Kaikoura in 2017 - 18 and has also undertaken a number of Geogazard projects. Graeme is a very active in his MD role. GNZ provides a full suite of Geohazard design build mitigation and Ground Engineering services throughout NZ.
